Regarding the book, "Exploring Lightwave", they had a booth at the last
VTU Expo last December. I trusted them primarily because they were not
asking for money up front. They said they would ship me a copy C.O.D.
once it was ready.
Concerning the author, Lightwave artist Tim Nign was contributing (at
that time) his knowledge & tutorials. His excellent models (SeaSub &
Tank) are on LIGHT-ROM 2 (plug) & were featured prominately in the ads
when it was called "Lightwave On Location". Now that the name has changed,
notice that Tim's work is no longer featured in the advertising.
Coincidence? I don't know.
The person who was representing himself as the publisher said he had
published at least one book on 3D Studio, which he was proud to show. It
could just be a situation where the publisher was just trying to
determine whether there was a market for the book before committing
himself to publishing it. It happens. Remember the "Virtual Reality"
multi CD ROM sets advertised last holiday season? They never
existed,it was just an attempt to determine whether there was a market
for their idea.
